Unless I mention otherwise in an author's note, the places that appear in the Rain books—the bars and restaurants, the judo and jiu-jitsu training academies, the streets and alleys—are all real, and I have visited them all to make sure the details are right (tough job, I know. I try not to complain). Because some of these places are far away, I write a lot of notes and take photographs to refresh my recollection later. Here are some of those photos—a pictorial representation of walking in the footsteps of John Rain.
